Kforce's client is looking a Mechanical Engineer in Tamarac, FL.
Responsibilities:
* Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design and support of new and existing products
* Assist in the product design and development of mechanical systems and components
* Participate in and support Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities; Identify potential design-related failures and risks and recommend mitigation strategies
* Support the prototyping and structural and thermal testing and analysis of designs to validate functionality and ensure product performance
* Assist in the planning and execution of Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize product design and testing
* Analyze testing results and provide input for design modifications based on DFMEA and DOE outcomes
* Collaborate with manufacturing teams to streamline production and integrate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) principles into the design process
* Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts in alignment with APQP principles
* Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 3D models and engineering drawings
* Prepare and maintain accurate engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
* Assist in the development of product manuals and technical reports, integrating DFMEA insights
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality
* Ensure adherence to safety protocols, industry standards, and quality requirements in design work
* Stay informed about industry best practices, especially in DFMEA, APQP, DOE, DFM, and emerging technologies
* Engage in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge
* Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams (manufacturing, research and development, and quality assurance) throughout the design process
* Other duties as assigned
