Introduction:
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Engineering team. You will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support to the Metso Services group for the GBP business unit. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the technical leadership and engineering support during the execution of project specific engineering and development projects for the HPGR and HRC equipment on Services group. In this position, you will report to Engineering Manager.
This position is mainly located in York, PA, but would be happy to consider other locations such as Sorocaba, Brazil or Perth, Australia. This position could involve up to 10% travel globally.
What you’ll do:
Oversee the detail design work in standard product development and delivery projects related to HPGR (high-pressure grinding rolls) and HRC equipment. Be responsible for reviewing and achieving the project engineering, quality, cost and schedule requirements. Working closely with the Product Lines and management to set the Engineering design guidelines and standards for upgrades, retrofits and refurbishments of mining equipment support arrangements. Prepares detailed scope of work for the upgrade of existing equipment. Perform calculations to ensure safe function of equipment for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit. Prepare mechanical drawings to facilitate fabrication, construction, and installing for equipment or services to refurbish, upgrade, or retrofit. Visit customer offices and plants to determine physical restrictions or limitations for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit. Show a commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers. Provides technical support to field service representatives. When appropriate, makes recommendations to improve field methods and efficiency. Participates in training seminars (internal and external).
Who you are:
Mechanical Engineering degree. Five years of design experience in engineering equipment for the Mining, mineral process or similar heavy industries. Great experience using 3D and 2D. Experience using a FEA modeling package is beneficial. Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office Products. Ability to support engineering work in multiple projects. Capability to make decisions effectively while working as part of a team. Capability to work in structured manner even in a time-sensitive setting.
