Job Description
Our client, a large full-service Mechanical Contractor with Design Build capabilities, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in the Greater St. Louis area. The ideal candidate will lead HVAC Design efforts and oversee Designers, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to project timelines.
ResponsibilitiesPerform calculations for HVAC systems.Develop layouts for HVAC designs.Select appropriate equipment for HVAC systems.Assist with bidding and estimation processes (training available).Solve problems proactively and communicate effectively with team members.Essential Skills3-5 years of experience in HVAC Design.Proficiency in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, and HVAC design.Knowledge of sheet metal design and load calculation.Experience with ductwork design/sizing for single zone and VAV systems.Familiarity with packaged rooftop units, split systems, and VRF systems.Proficiency with Trane Trace 700 and/or Carrier HAP load calculation software.Experience in commercial office, warehouse, multi-family residential, and educational facilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with hydronic (chilled water/hot water) systems is a plus.Plumbing design experience is a plus.Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required.Engineering degree not required; candidates with an associate degree in design are welcome.Familiarity with AutoCAD.Work Environment
