Mechanical Engineer
Description: • Schedule completion of drawings per commitment to customer’s contract or purchase order. • Communicate with customer’s and engineering firm(s) to gain approval of general arrangement design. • Collaborate with operations department to transfer engineering packages to production planning personnel. • Develop and implement new standards and procedures that will increase turnaround of engineering packages to customer for approval and to operations team for manufacturing. • Utilize current knowledge of Solidworks design/drafting program to improve performance in the areas of: Standards, Increased throughput, Incorporation of data • Meet weekly with management to report on project schedules. • Communicate with customer’s management and/or installation companies on issues of equipment operation, proper installation, maintenance, etc. • Maintain the center of excellence for all drawing and documentation practices and services. Includes project analysis and report generation for existing applications. • Collaborate with internal resources and corporate resources to establish and maintain design and drawing standards. Skills: Design, Solidworks, Driveworks, PDM, conveyor system, design control management, load calculations, Management Top Skills Details: Design,Solidworks,Driveworks,PDM Additional Skills & Qualifications: Ideal candidate is a 2-3 year Mechanical Design Engineer that is interested in getting into a role with leadership responsibilities. * Mechanical Engineering Degree • Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills - has given team direction or development in some way *desire to be a leader* • Working knowledge of Solidworks design tools and programs, Driveworks, PDM • Strong sense of time management and prioritization Nice to have: * Design control management * Experience calculating structural loads and equipment support * Working knowledge of Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers * Software implementation and process design Experience Level: Entry Level About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
