Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the planning and design of fire suppression systems, considering the complexities of production, installation, operation, maintenance and repair, testing, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical System Design Producing drawings, schematics, preliminary layouts, system function, etc. Providing engineering calculations. Implementing, Performing, and Sustaining Factory Acceptance Tests, Commissioning Procedures, and Engineering Drawings Field Commissioning & Technical representation (International and Domestic Travel) Assist and/or lead in Research and Development projects and opportunities. Reviewing all the documentation received from the client to ensure that the information is sufficient to design a system that meets their contractual requirements. Developing and implementing design schedule for each project. Monitoring and maintaining schedules. Ensuring that Production has the necessary information and drawings for their project, providing technical and engineering guidance to group leader and other assigned personnel. Understanding the resources required and monitoring overall resource levels for the design effort. Obtaining and reviewing vendor information and technical data as required. Reviewing and developing Subcontractor Data Requirements Lists (SDRL’s). Collaborating with the Engineering Manager throughout each project on any cost or schedule issues. Responding to and resolving all owner comments and regulatory comments and issues. Ensuring that all Regulatory and Classification material certificates are received of all projects and that they are correct.
