Job Description The Mechanical Engineer Powertrain Integrations role is to provide mechanical design and integration support for powertrain systems on the prototype aircraft program at Supernal. This comprises two main areas: physical integration mechanical packaging of subsystems in 3D CAD; and functional integration supporting system test campaigns through design of hardware design of fixtures and execution of functional tests. Skills and Requirements Responsibilities and Duties - Use 3D CAD tools to model and build different test tools/fixtures, perform packaging analysis and create drawings - Developing highly efficient test plans that demonstrate powertrain system functionality. - Manage multiple complex challenges within a fast-paced environment - Assist in writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures - Other duties as assigned -   Education/Experience: - Bachelors degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, aviation/aerospace or relevant engineering field - A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in mechanical design, testing, battery lab equipment (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered) - Working experience with high voltage systems, along with high-voltage safety training - Working experience in machine shop - Knowledge in use of standard electronics lab tools including DC meters, DC power supplies - Experience working with common battery cycling hardware like Arbin, Maccor, Biologic, Thermal Chambers, Gamry system, or NHR - Experience with metrology and data acquisition systems - Experience with CAD tools, prefer CATIA - Experience with using scripting language like Python for automated testing and data extraction, preferred  Required skills: - Knowledge of safety hazards of working with and electrical and mechanical testing of lithium- ion batteries - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Proficient in Office 365 Suite - Careful and meticulous attention to detail, in particular during battery assembly, testing and data entry - Ability to work independently and with at team - Ability to interpret shop manuals, schematics, and work instructions null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
