Mechanical Engineer

Join our Ride & Show Mechanical Engineering (R&SME) team as a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you'll spearhead the development, management, and execution of diverse engineering projects. These projects span a variety of theme park attractions, including roller coasters, round rides, omni movers, water flume rides, animatronics, parade floats, transportation systems, hotels, and resorts. You'll collaborate closely with fellow mechanical engineers, designers, and ride control engineers, conducting design reviews with Design Assurance, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and other key stakeholders. Additionally, you'll provide progress updates to Facilities Asset Management and other relevant parties.

Your mission is to support partner organizations in delivering an exceptional experience for our guests. Key responsibilities include leading projects of varying scales, from design and component specification to engineering and hazard analysis, manufacturing support, installation, acceptance testing, post-turnover support, and overall project management. You'll also mentor engineers, offer second set of eyes support to ensure adherence to design workflows, standards, and codes, and perform regular inspections and maintenance checks on mechanical systems.

You'll tackle troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize design and performance, and ensure all projects comply with regulatory and safety standards. Furthermore, you'll drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and develop innovative solutions to enhance the guest experience.

You will operate with minimal supervision, consulting with leaders on unusual matters. Your assignments will be broad, requiring originality and ingenuity, and you'll have considerable latitude for independent action and decision-making.

Qualifications

At least three (3) years of proven experience with design standards or equivalent and ASTM F24.Demonstrated five (5) years of mechanical engineering design experience in a low volume manufacturing setting, conveyor systems, large custom mechanical systems. The amusement industry is highly preferred (gravity coasters, round rides, dark rides, omni movers, etc.).Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).Proficiency in mechanical design, analysis, and troubleshooting.Experience with CAD software and engineering analysis tools.Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.Must be willing to work 2nd and 3rd shift as needed due to work being done in the theme parks while they are closed!

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $100.00
