Our Federal Services Group is seeking a Mid/Senior Mechanical Engineer. Responsibilities of this role include preparing error-free engineering documents, maintaining relevant knowledge of industry codes and standards, building strong client relationships and producing high quality engineering deliverables. The Federal Services group provides engineering services (HVAC, hydraulic, piping system designs, etc.) for our Department of Energy (DOE) facilities. The work involves designing mechanical systems in support of our country's nuclear stockpile, environmental cleanup and storage of radiological waste, and the development of the next generation of nuclear power.

 

This position can be based out of our Kennesaw, GA, FT Worth, TX, Plano, TX, Aiken, SC, Naperville, IL or Kennewick, WA office locations.

Responsibilities Prepare and review error-free, high quality engineering documents (e.g., drawings, sketches, work instructions, calculations, evaluations, specifications) according to and bounded by industry codes, standards, and regulations to support client engineering needsGenerate engineering related documents in accordance with client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements, adhering to client and ENERCON procedures, processes, specifications, and other company or project directivesMaintain up to date and relevant knowledge of industry codes and standards, safety culture, and design techniques suitable to the nuclear industryLead engineering projects and produce / review engineering deliverables in accordance with client and ENERCON Quality Assurance (QA) Programs that are consistent with project work scopes and client expectationsBuild strong relationships with clients through professional interactions and communications, and through the development of quality engineering productsConsult with other disciplines to ensure designs are compatible with and have considered all disciplinary requirementsTravel to plant sites to interface with client personnel, and to perform walk downs of plant structures, systems, and components related to the project work Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited universityMinimum 3 years of experience with design of mechanical systems for mid level engineerMinimum of 7 years of experience with design of mechanical systems for senior level engineerDemonstrated proficiency in preparation of mechanical calculationsProficient in Word and ExcelGood writing, presentation and communication skillsAbility to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teamsAbility to travel up to 10% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks if neededThermal-hydraulic and design modification experienced desiredRelevant energy system design experience (e.g., HVAC, Hydraulic, Piping) preferredProfessional Engineering license (or in pursuit / Engineering-In-Training certification) preferredSoftware experience (AFT FATHOM / ARROW / IMPULSE, AutoPipe, HVAC Heat Load / Air Flow) preferred

 

Salary Range

The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
