Mechanical Engineer

Actalent is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer in Portland, OR, where you'll develop innovative solutions and support existing test systems. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on tackling complex challenges and working in a collaborative environment.

Location: Portland, ORKey Responsibilities:Design & Development: Create and modify designs, documentation, and production support for mechanical interfaces and components used in multi-rack automated test stations.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with a diverse team to solve production and field testing problems, including initial design, prototyping, and environmental testing.Product Design & Analysis: Develop and review product designs, perform tolerance analysis, and ensure designs meet development requirements.Test Fixtures & Documentation: Design test fixtures, cables, interconnects, and prepare associated documentation.Project Management: Plan and manage tasks effectively, present technical information to peers, management, and customers.Environmental Considerations: Address enclosure structural design, thermal, vibration, and other environmental factors, from design verification to production transition.Skills & Qualifications:Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and precision in work.Team Player: Ability to excel in a team environment, interacting with mechanical engineers, drafters, electrical engineers, software engineers, and system engineers.Software Proficiency: Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks, NX Designer, and AutoCAD or similar design tools.Mechanical Design & Analysis: Capable of performing mechanical design and analysis to meet system requirements.Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Top Skills:SolidWorksNon-ConformingGD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)Additional Skills:Mechanical Engineering (ME)DesignFEA (Finite Element Analysis)
