Mechanical Engineer
Position Overview Seeking an entry-level mechanical engineer to be a technical lead and engineering liaison for all fastener related projects Responsibilities • Supporting fastener related resourcing activities to ensure timely engineering input & execution of required validation• Supporting manufacturing and suppliers for production critical issues such as 8Ds or part shortages• Collaborating with Product Validation to support and recommend fasteners for joint design• Driving execution of fastener related cost reduction and complexity reduction projects• Partnering with Materials Engineering and Product Validation to determine appropriate test activities and acceptance criteria to validate fastener design and performance Minimum Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science OR + Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment Additional Requirements + Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Product Design & Technological Skills • Teamcenter and UG/NX experience preferred• Conduct packaging studies and 3D data reviews/direction• Release 2D prints to support product/parts builds Project Management Skills • Solve technical challenges• Resolve packaging challenges• Support cross-functional projects and issues• Support the Fasteners & Hardware CMT as Engineering Co-Lead• Interface with purchasing/supplier on part design/drawing content• Ability to work cross-functionally with a large variety of coworkers• Work with Materials Engineering and Validation Engineering to support SMT fastener design• Efficiently address the needs of multiple projects on a day to day basis Related skills • Ability to interface with customers/suppliers/coworkers to get results• Ability to work quickly to find solutions to production critical issues• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products• Strong oral, written, and presentation skills• Ability to successfully lead others.• Experience with fastener manufacturing processes and/or fastener validation and/or fastener design is a plus Company Overview At International Motors, LLC* (“International”), we’ve never backed away from forging our own path.
