Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

 

Job Description

Developing designs documentation modification production support

Contribute to the success of a cross-functional team to develop solutions to production and field testing problems. This could include initial design prototyping and environment testing solutions.

Develop and review product designs and analyze development and design requirements

Design of test fixtures cables interconnects and associated documentation

Perform tolerance analysis

Prepare and present project / technical information to peers internal management and customers

Plan and manage tasks effectively

Specific tasks include enclosure structural design thermal vibration other environmental considerations design verification prototype build and production transition to the factory.

Perform assignments requiring the use and application of moderate to complex mechanical engineering principles and techniques.

 

Hard Skills

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or higherProficiency in SolidWorks design, and knowledge of GD&T or precision tolerances for designThe role will require a high level and diversified set of skills within mechanical engineering; good prospects may need not have every single qualification, but should have some combination of several:FEA, thermal analysis, material analysis, tolerance analysis, RCCA/root cause and corrective action, failure analysis, DFM/DFA, nonconformance evaluation, quality or defect analysis, process development, experience with various manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, additive manufacturing, etc.5+ years of experience in a complex engineering/design environment required; 7-10+ years highly preferred and will be prioritizedPE License a bonus, as are team leadership roles and abilities

 

Soft Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal engineering teams, and potentially lead teams and projectsProject management skills

 

Job Type

This is a full time consulting position working on a scope of work with Actalent, supporting a specific client

 

Work Site

This position requires onsite work at our client site, but may have occasional hybrid capabilities especially after the first 90 days. Local talent to the PDX area is required, or someone who can relocate to PDX within 2-4 weeks; these roles are slated to start sometime in January

 

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $75.00
