Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing engineering design calculations and evaluations, leading project engineering design specific to HVAC systems, and ensuring compliance with NYS Building Codes and industry standard design recommendations. This role involves collaboration with design teams, attending meetings, and providing technical support to staff. Experience in the K-12, higher education, and/or healthcare markets is essential.
ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering design calculations and evaluations specific to HVAC systems.Lead project engineering design and ensure compliance with NYS Building Codes.Keep up to date with changing technologies.Attend design team meetings for collaboration and coordination with other trades.Design mechanical systems from pre-schematic phase, conduct energy modeling analysis, energy code compliance calculations, opinion of probable costs, and life cycle cost analysis.Perform field site visits during the design phase to document existing conditions.Provide construction administration support including submittal review, RFI responses, periodic site visits for compliance, and punch listing.Provide technical support to the staff.Prepare construction and bidding documents including drawings and technical specifications.Essential Skills7-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 2 years direct experience in building systems.Proficient in Revit.Knowledge of EIT, Revit, and AutoCAD.Ability to put together a detailed set of bidding documents.Experience in the K-12, higher education, and/or healthcare markets.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with energy modeling analysis and energy code compliance calculations.Ability to perform life cycle cost analysis and provide opinions of probable costs.Experience in construction administration support including submittal review, RFI responses, and punch listing.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.86 - $62.50
