What a Mechanical Engineer does at HP:

Influence R&D and GBU in the development of new products, services, and solutions for HP Inkjet portfolio.Coordinate and lead internal & outsourced development activities with manufacturing partners and suppliers in support of the worldwide manufacture of Inkjet products from NPI through end of lifecycle.Support Assurance of Supply part qualification activities to avoid or mitigate product shipment risks due to part availability issues.Lead initiatives to proactively identify customer impacting quality issues for Inkjet products in the field & factory and drive development of mitigation plans.Optimize and take cost out through Automation, Design influence, Manufacturing Overheads /Line Tooling/Test optimization, and Warranty reduction.Drive Future Ready Transformation initiatives to support HP evolution to an Agile, Resilient & Sustainable Supply Chain.Collaborate and communicate with Management, internal and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.Typically 0-1 years’ experience (fresh graduate).Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Basic understanding of material properties, hardware, and electrical component design.Experience in 3D CAD software, statistical analysis & data visualization.Proficiency in programming will be an added advantage.
