Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Join our dynamic MEP firm located in Northern Virginia as a Mechanical Engineer. This role is ideal for junior-level engineers looking to grow and develop under the guidance of a senior team. You will be involved in designing mechanical systems for commercial and government buildings, contributing to a variety of exciting projects.
Responsibilities
+ Assist the project team with HVAC load calculations.
+ Determine systems sizing and layouts.
+ Calculate HVAC equipment sizes and select appropriate HVAC equipment.
+ Complete field surveys and prepare CAD drawings.
+ Travel to job sites to assist in the installation of mechanical systems.
+ Review shop drawings and perform construction administration functions.
Essential Skills
+ Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
+ 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD.
+ HVAC experience or an HVAC focus in school.
+ Ability to obtain Security Clearance.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
+ Computer proficiency.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or in the process of obtaining it.
+ Experience with engineering calculation software such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP.
+ Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software.
+ Internship experience is a plus.
Work Environment
Our team consists of smart, friendly engineers who enjoy pushing themselves creatively. The work environment includes cubicles and a shop with techs working on-site. The typical schedule is 9-5 with mostly in-office work, but flexible days are provided as needed. Site visits comprise about 10% of the work week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00
