Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical Engineer Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to oversee weldment drawing standards and general drafting best practices for our various product lines. You will play a critical role in directing the production of design documents for metal buildings and other structures, ensuring they meet relevant building codes and standards. This position involves coordinating manufacturing weldment design reviews, ensuring manufacturability of weldments, and contributing to building code compliance and energy code designs. Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills are essential. Responsibilities: + Oversee weldment drawing standards and general drafting best practices for different product lines. + Direct others in producing design documents for metal buildings and structures that meet drawing standards and relevant building codes. + Check and set weldment drawing standards and drafting best practices. + Coordinate manufacturing weldment design reviews for new products or designs. + Ensure manufacturability of weldments produced in-house and outsourced. + Assist with building code compliance and energy code designs, including producing required documentation. + Apply problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve design issues effectively. + Write technical documentation and reports. + Train others in extensive welding symbol knowledge and proper usage. + Practice strong drafting skills, including checking and marking up other people’s weldment drawings. + Manage time effectively, stay self-motivated, and be flexible in a fast-paced team environment. + Understand construction documents, including drawings and technical specifications. + Provide code compliance assistance and documentation for prefabricated metal electrical control buildings and other structures, ensuring they are durable and safe. Essential Skills: + Extensive welding symbol knowledge and proper usage. + Strong drafting practices. + Excellent time management skills. + Self-motivated and flexible to work in a fast-paced team environment. + Good understanding of construction documents, including drawings and technical specifications. + Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. + Problem-solving skills. + Technical documentation and report writing skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Experience with weldment drawing standards. + Knowledge of structural mechanical, FEA analysis, and sheet metal design. The role requires flexibility and the ability to manage time effectively. You will collaborate with team members to ensure the production of high-quality, code-compliant structures.
