Mechanical Engineer

**I. Purpose of Position**
+ The primary role of this position is mechanism design, components test/verification, finial system build for new product development and legacy product upgrade. This role will work in Hach R&D organization in partnership with other R&D functions and business units to meet the prescribed design requirements, schedule, and production readiness.

**II. Key Responsibilities**
+ Deep understand requirements and designs, modifies, develops, and implements system or subsystem that includes mechanical,mechanism, electro-mechanical, fluidic, optical components, etc.
+ Designs, develops, and implements assembly and test fixtures for production or verification.
+ Responsible for components qualified process and ECO/ECR process.
+ Responsible for component/system level test plan development, review, execution, and/or analysis of tests based on established specifications.
+ Provides, maintains system BOM in levels.
+ Demonstrates a practical knowledge of a technical field and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, or procedures in a system.
+ Responsible for related development documentation/report.
+ Participate in supplier audit process.
+ Takes up other tasks and assignment as and when assigned by the department manager.
+ Support team manager to complete other tasks and assignments from within and outside the team or department.
**III.** **Education, Background and Skill Requirements**
+ Bachelor with a minimum of 5 years or Master with 3 years in mechanical designing for product development or manufacturing.
+ Have at least one complete new product development experience, and the product is launched and is applied to the global market are preferred.
+ Understand product development and manufacturing methodologies to achieve high quality design.
+ Experienced in machining, plastic(machining& injection & overmold), Sheetmetal, rubber, diecasting part (Optical preferred).
+ Familiar with air/fluidic component design and selection, such as valves, pumps, tube/pipe, and connection.
+ Familiar with ISO quality systems (specifically Design Controls/Product Realization) and related requirements.
+ Mechanical design using CAD (Solidworks preferred).
+ Structural (FEA), thermal, moldflow and computational fluid dynamics analysis are preferred.
+ Good at materials and component selection.
+ Good communication and presentation skills.
+ Familiar with DFM/DFMEA , design for reliability(DFR) process.
+ Skilled in translate product specification into mechanical detail design specification.
+ Good oral and written English skill.
+ Experience in global company is a positive add on.
+ Proficient problem solving and logic thinking.
+ Quick in learning and understanding new products and technologies.
+ Team player and interpersonal skill are required.
+ Integrity, open and trustworthy.
