Visit arcfield.com for more details. Responsibilities The candidate selected for this role will be working at Orion Space Solutions, a subsidiary of Arcfield. As OSS is a smaller organization, the engineer selected for this role will have a broad range of responsibilities to execute. In general, these responsibilities will encompass the range of mechanical engineering tasks required to support development of smallsats, payloads, electronic units, GSE, and other sensing systems. This role will require the engineer to work cross-functionally and identify needs from other engineering and programmatic groups. In addition, they will be required to tackle open-ended design problems that require pro-active communication and problem solving. In general, the engineer will be required to support the following tasks: Generate CAD in support of proposals, concept studies, detailed design, and manufacturing efforts Support mechanical design studies for payloads and spacecraft Generate detailed mechanical designs for GSE, electronic housings, wiring, payloads, and spacecraft Create and review mechanical drawings & support quoting efforts Support cross-functional meetings to share design details Generate documentation and present at design reviews Qualifications In order to be successful in this role, the team is looking for a candidate with the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant engineering or computation field plus 5-7 years, MS plus 3-5 years or PhD plus 0-2 years professional working experience in mechanical engineering positions Equal Pay Act This is the projected compensation range for this position.
