V2X’s National Security Solutions (NSS) has an immediate opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with a background in materials analysis, 3D scanning, computer-aided design (CAD), modeling, and simulation.
Responsibilities
+ The Mechanical Engineer will provide in-depth research and analysis of foreign systems in support of US Navy efforts to develop and validate weapon design, countermeasures, and tactics. Specific responsibilities will include:
+ Perform material analysis using specialized tools and application methods.
+ Perform 3D scans of various systems using specialized tools and application methods.
+ Use results of 3D scans to perform system modeling and to generate simulations.
+ Perform X-ray scans to inspect and model various systems.
+ Operate, maintain, and calibrate various lab equipment.
+ Participate in training events related to lab capabilities.
+ May be required to travel in support of lab efforts.
Qualifications
+ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Education / Certifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree (desired) with 3-years of experience
+ Or
+ High school diploma (or equivalent) with 5+ years in a similar position
+ Position requires U.S. citizenship and a final DoD TOP SECRET clearance with most recent investigation (SSBI, SBPR, PPR, T5, T5R) completed within the last 6 years
+ Experience:
+ Required experience:
+ Minimum 5 years of experience performing in-depth/complex analysis on a wide array of materials.
+ Minimum 5 years of CAD/modeling/simulation experience.
+ Knowledge and demonstrated experience working in a laboratory environment.
+ Proficiency using SolidWorks.
+ Experience with Geomagic Design X.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in effective communications (writing, speaking, briefing).
+ Desired Experience
+ Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) operation.
+ Thermo Fisher Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) operation.
+ NSI Xray inspection and Computed tomography (CT) scans.
+ Forklift operation.
+ Forensic photography.
+ 3D Printing.
+ CompTIA certification: A+, Network+, Security+
+ Skills & Technology Used:
+ Demonstrated experience with MS Office Tools, SharePoint, and Adobe Professional (PDF).
+ Decision making skills that promote working autonomously when managing and executing projects, tasks, and work assignments.
+ Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
