MAG Aerospace is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) in Pennsylvania!
In this role, you will be responsible for the development of the designs, plans and specifications as well as the installation of electrical and mechanical connections. Additionally, you will be responsible for installing complex satellite communications equipment of extensive size and complexity for use at various CONUS and OCONUS facilities.

**This position requires a DoD Secret Clearance or the eligibility to obtain the clearance**
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:
Perform hardware and/or software integration, development, and operation for experimental purposes of explosive characterization researchPrepare test items and specimens as needed in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Develop SOPs for the production and validation of new test articles, methods, and standards, sample preparation, operation of equipment, recording data, data reduction and analysis, data storage, and reportingDevelop specialized test articles and test phantoms to serve as an imitation or representation of a specific threat article, threat condition, or performance characteristic associated with the technology being testedDevelop or revise methods of quality assurance and quality control that support the operation of the applied research laboratoriesDevelop or modify scientific apparatus which improves or adds to the current capabilities Maintain lists of laboratory equipment and supporting materials and test objectsOperate threat detection equipment to measure material properties and/or determine detectability of contraband materials RequirementsKnowledge and Skills
Knowledge of the techniques and theories characteristic of electronics/electronic theory, and utilization of the Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) system and manufacturing capabilitiesAbility to apply general knowledge of electronics and to transfer experience and knowledge of complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems and subsystems of highly complex communication/weapons systems or assembliesMust possess in-depth electronics knowledge and program management skills to make sound decisions, provide guidance, and ensure success on design, integration, and fabrication Firm grasp of engineering concepts and experience designing mechanical systems/productsExcellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problemsExceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning abilityCreativity and analytical skillsAbility to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and concise mannerMust be self-motivated and a great team memberEducation
3+ years of experience working in engineeringDesired Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field (with coursework in advanced mathematics being a plus)Certified ElectricianOther Requirements
Must be a U.S CitizenMust possess an active DoD Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain oneWill need to travel to command and PM sites representing TYAD to describe TYAD's capability to perform various design, analysis, and manufacturing tasks.
