Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
+ System Design: Develop and implement mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
+ Energy Management: Optimize building systems for energy efficiency and sustainability.
+ Maintenance: Plan and oversee the maintenance of mechanical systems to ensure reliability and performance.
+ Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with relevant codes and standards.
+ Collaboration: Work with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs.
+ Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve issues related to building mechanical systems.
Skills and Qualifications:
+ Technical Expertise: Proficiency in system design software and knowledge of building codes.
+ Analytical Skills: Ability to assess system performance and make data-driven improvements.
+ Problem-Solving Skills: Strong aptitude for identifying and resolving system issues.
+ Communication Skills: Effective communication with project teams and clients.
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Certifications in energy management or sustainability can be advantageous.
Responsibilities
+ Lead project teams to design and implement solutions for laboratory and critical environment HVAC systems.
+ Collaborate with clients to enhance the safety and efficiency of ventilation systems.
+ Provide strategic direction and technical expertise from project initiation to completion.
+ Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
+ Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
+ Travel to various client locations (estimated 25% travel) primarily within the United States.
+ Develop and coach team members to support their skill and career development.
+ Prepare reports and documentation related to field engineering activities.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a project engineer or manager.
+ Professional Engineer (PE) certification is desired.
+ Significant experience working with laboratory/critical environment HVAC systems, building controls, and energy management.
+ Proven abilities in problem-solving, results orientation, conceptual thinking, decision making, and teamwork.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in mechanical engineering design, project management, HVAC engineering, and construction management.
+ Ability to develop a team and provide coaching to support skill and career development.
+ Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and engagement in professional societies.
Work Environment
The individual will work out of the North Carolina office, but the role may vary for some for example some of the PM role involves significant site and field engineering activities. This opportunity is to help add more great Mechanical individuals to growing teams.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00
