**Description** SAIC is seeking a **Mechanical Engineer** to join the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) to support software development of Naval gun weapons systems in **Dahlgren, VA** . The engineer will need to have a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with engineering drawings and quality assurance techniques, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is for new work that has yet to be funded. JOB DESCRIPTION: + Assist in the assembly, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, machinery, and prototypes. + Interpret and work with engineering drawings. + Collaborate with engineers to modify designs and troubleshoot mechanical issues. + Maintain accurate documentation of test results, repairs, and engineering processes. **Qualifications** **Required education and experience:** + Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. **Required skills:** + Experience related to weapons systems and/or Navy programs. + Ability to communicate with all levels of team members on the project + Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel. + Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word). **Required clearance:** + Must have an active Secret security clearance.
