Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record in implementing best-in-class test techniques and processes within a complex supply chain. The ideal candidate will apply Design for Excellence (DfX) principles to influence product designs and transition various autonomous robotic solutions from design to production. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to develop suppliers, manage product lifecycle changes, lead product quality improvement projects, and drive technical root cause analysis for supplier defects. The successful candidate will make wide-ranging business decisions and be willing to “roll up their sleeves” to consistently deliver results.

ResponsibilitiesProvide Design for Excellence (DfX) guidance and feedback on electromechanical designs.Offer subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: PCBA manufacturing and assembly, optics/cameras, sensors, or electromechanical device manufacturing.Guide best practices on manufacturing tolerances using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Launch tooling with accelerated schedules and assess project risks.Review external production processes, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.Qualify production processes based on dimensional data and control plans.Drive internal and external PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) reviews.Solve technical problems across a broad set of manufacturing commodities.Mentor team members and design engineers.Propose design changes to enhance product sustainability.Evaluate and approve product electrical Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).Conduct root cause analysis and resolution for production, supplier, and field failures.Support a culture of inclusion.Up to 15% travel.Essential SkillsDesign for ManufacturingDFXOpticalSensorSolidworksRoboticsMechanical EngineeringDesign for ManufacturingDFMEAGD&TAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's DegreeWillingness to travel up to 15%Work Environment

The role involves cross-functional collaboration and hands-on work. The candidate will be expected to travel up to 15% of the time. The position may involve working with various manufacturing technologies including PCBA, optics, sensors, and robotics.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.36 - $50.36
