We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role involves performing complex activities related to the design, testing, and evaluation of mechanical systems for food equipment machinery. You will interface with various departments and customers to define needs for new or custom features in existing equipment, create CAD layouts, design solutions, and perform regulatory work to ensure the delivery of customer specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Perform complex activities related to the design, testing, and evaluation of mechanical systems for food equipment machinery.
+ Interface with applications, sales, manufacturing, sourcing, and customers to define needs for new or custom features in existing equipment.
+ Create CAD layouts, design solutions, calculations, and perform regulatory work to ensure the delivery of customer specifications.
+ Prepare mechanical engineering studies, specifications, and cost estimations.
+ Help solve unique, mechanically related field problems.
+ Work with manufacturing, sourcing, purchasing, and suppliers to review the cost/value relationship of the mechanical systems being designed.
+ Travel to customer sites as needed (~20%).
+ Spend the majority of the day designing (80%).
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or similar field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
+ 3+ years of experience in machine design.
+ Proficiency in 3-D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD), PDM (Product Data Management) systems, and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
+ Comfortable working and communicating with customers.
+ Ability to be creative and find solutions without set instructions (problem solver).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the food processing industry.
+ Local to the area.
Work Environment
The role involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. You will frequently use a computer keyboard and mouse and regularly lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. The position requires regular manipulation or handling of machine parts and exposure to outside elements such as hot and cold weather. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
