We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business to join our on-site team. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects focused on designing state of the art structures within Advanced Facilities. This position is located in Burlington, VT (relocation assistance is available). The successful candidate will be responsible for interfacing with client and site personnel, driving a team of mechanical engineers and designers. Responsibilities in this impactful role include: * You will work on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ manufacturing. You and the other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools and facilities infrastructure mechanical systems. * Technical engineering responsibilities include design and oversight for piping and ducting for equipment heating, cooling, exhaust, and process chemicals and gasses in some of the most complex, densely packed industrial facilities on the planet. The design may include retrofit of existing building systems to accommodate tool installation including engineering calculations, equipment and component sizing, selection, and specification, and support during construction and integration into the factory. * As the mechanical representative on a multi-discipline design team, you will work directly with other Jacobs design staff, client equipment owners, researchers, and equipment manufacturers of next generation and prototype tools to build utility requirement documents to allow the development of installation design packages. * Leadership responsibilities will be focused on leading additional mechanical staff that assist the site on an as-needed basis. You may also provide technical training, quality check designs, and assist directly with the more complex portions of the design process. Bring your curiosity, talent for multi-tasking and collaboration, and extreme organizational skills and we’ll help you grow, pursue, and fulfill what drives you - so we can make big impacts on the world, together. * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET Accredited University * At least 7 years of practical application of mechanical facilities engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related mechanical facilities systems Ideally, you'll also have: * Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams * At least 5 years of design project delivery experience * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience * At least 5 years of experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools either their manufacture, installation, or use in cleanrooms * Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD software * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Forward-thinking, eager to learn best practices and contribute with innovative ideas * Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base * Passion for buildings and construction * At least 2 years of field experience * Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Vermont Other Requirements: * Location: This is an on-site position requiring you to live in, or be willing to relocate to, northwestern Vermont. * Physical Requirements: Position requires visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction.
