Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing aspects of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering systems using Revit. The projects include municipal buildings for local communities. You will report directly to the Mechanical Department Head, attend weekly team meetings to discuss project deadlines, tasks, and upcoming workload, and communicate with architects (in-house), clients, and consultants as necessary.
ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering systems using Revit.Work on municipal building projects for local communities.Report directly to the Mechanical Department Head.Attend weekly team meetings to discuss project deadlines, tasks, and upcoming workload.Communicate with in-house architects, clients, and consultants as necessary.Essential SkillsMechanical engineering design experience utilizing Revit.Experience in HVAC, plumbing, boiler, chiller, and construction documents.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.2-6 years of experience in the field.Ability to become licensed.Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field.Ability to write specifications.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience designing HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Spec-Link (plus).Associates Degree in Drafting or related degree with 8+ years of experience.Work Environment
Our firm offers in-house architecture and engineering services, serving clients in northern Illinois for over 25 years. We have offices in Aurora, Bloomington, and Chicago. Our projects include judicial centers, high schools, wellness centers, police and fire stations, corporate offices, village and city halls, living communities, banks, and community college facilities. Our brand new office in Aurora, built in 2021, is located in downtown Aurora along the river and can accommodate up to 40 people. The office features individual showers, a team meeting space, and a kitchen area. The architecture team consists of approximately 15 members, the engineering team has around 10 members between M/E/S, and there are 5 members in marketing/admin/technology. All new hires will start in the office 100% of the time, with the option of 16 hours of remote work per week once approved by their manager. We offer 2 weeks of accrued vacation and 9 paid holidays. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08/hr.
