Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will oversee weldment drawing standards and general drafting best practices for our various product lines. You will direct the production of design documents for metal buildings and other structures, ensuring they meet all relevant drawing standards and building codes. Additionally, you will coordinate manufacturing weldment design reviews for new products or designs, ensuring manufacturability of weldments produced both in-house and outsourced. The role may evolve to include building code compliance and energy code designs, along with the production of required documentation.

ResponsibilitiesOversee weldment drawing standards and general drafting best practices for different product lines.Direct the production of design documents for metal buildings and other structures that meet drawing standards and relevant building codes.Check and set weldment drawing standards and drafting best practices.Coordinate manufacturing weldment design reviews for new products or designs.Ensure manufacturability of weldments produced in-house and outsourced.Assist with building code compliance and energy code designs, producing all required documentation.Apply problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve design issues effectively.Produce technical documentation and reports.Train others on welding symbols and their proper usage.Check and markup weldment drawings created by others.Manage time effectively, working self-motivated and flexibly in a fast-paced team environment.Understand construction documents, including drawings and technical specifications.Provide code compliance assistance and documentation for prefabricated metal electrical control buildings and other structures, ensuring their durability and safety.Essential SkillsExtensive knowledge of welding symbols and their proper usage, with the ability to train others.Strong drafting practices, including the ability to check and markup weldment drawings.Excellent time management skills, self-motivation, and flexibility.Proficient in providing code compliance help and documentation for prefabricated metal electrical control buildings and other structures.Ability to apply problem-solving skills effectively.Technical documentation and report writing skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with weldment drawing standards, structural mechanical, FEA analysis, and sheet metal design.Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced team environment where duties can differ significantly from day to day. You will need to manage your time effectively, stay self-motivated, and be flexible. The work involves collaborating with others, coordinating design reviews, and ensuring code compliance. Attention to detail and strong drafting practices are essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
