Job Description
- Will perform complex activities related to the design, testing and evaluation of mechanical systems of food equipment machinery.
- Will interface with applications, sales, manufacturing, sourcing, and customers to define needs for new or custom features to be developed in existing equipment.
- Create CAD layouts, design solutions, calculations, regulatory work to ensure the delivery of customer specifications.
- Prepare mechanical engineering studies, specifications, and cost estimations.
- Helps solve unique, mechanically related field problems.
- Work with manufacturing, sourcing, purchasing and suppliers to review the cost/value relationship of the mechanical systems being designed.
- Travel to customer sites as needed (20%)
Must Have:
- BS or AS degree in mechanical engineering or similar field from an ABET accredited engineering program
- 3+ years experience in machine design
- 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD), PDM systems, ERP systems
- Comfortable working and communicating with customers
- Ability to be creative and find solutions without set instructions (problem solver)
Nice to Have:
- Experience in food processing industry
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
