JOB TITLE:    Mechanical Engineer

 

LOCATION:   Carrollton, TX

 

DUTIES:

Responsible for commercial air conditioning/furnace product development; participate in new product design and system optimization process; conduct design and sizing of system assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components; apply mechanical design and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, models, energy modeling; work with thermal/fluid system, electrical system, control system and electrical-mechanical components on VRF system or mini-split/ductless equipment; use concept selection method to shortlist technologies for design approach; coordinate with technical support personnel to conduct prototypes; perform prototype testing in accordance with standards and testing result evaluation; use simulation tools to predict refrigeration system performance: coils, compressors, and cooling system; evaluate mechanical systems, products, and components by reviewing design; coordinate with sourcing team, supply chain team, and manufacturing; prepare project related material and paperwork and paperwork for prototyping, pilot builds, and production release processes; participate in bill of material, engineering handbook, installation instruction updates and engineering change request and change notice process; coordinate with the design engineer through all phases of the design to ensure the design is right featured; comply with project plan to ensure scope, schedule, budget, and expectations corresponds with the team expectations. Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Mechanical Engineer, Design or Research Engineer, Staff Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years with thermal science, HVAC systems, and product design and manufacturing, including electrical system, control system and electrical-mechanical components, using mechanical design techniques, tools, and principles in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience, employer will accept a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the fields stated above and 3 years of experience in the above. Experience therein to include 3 years with new product development processes including writing Engineering Change Notice and Bill of Materials.
