**Description** **SAIC** is seeking an organized and motivated **Mechanical Engineer** in **Middletown, RI** who will work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of mechanical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication. **Job Duties:** + Design mechanical systems for underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware for land-based testing of naval systems. + Create fabrication drawings of all hardware. Create technical data package for systems and control configuration management of the drawings. + Tasking will include project management of products assigned, including resource management, scheduling, inventory management and quality assurance of products. + Work directly with vendors and manufacturers of mechanical systems and custom assemblies to ensure on time and sufficient deliverables. + Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities. + Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion. + Ability to interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan and report status. **Qualifications** **Required** + B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and two (2) years or more experience. + Experience with engineering design, modeling, and drawing development in SolidWorks. + Experience creating technical data package quality drawings. + Must be a US citizen able to obtain clearance up to the level of SECRET. **Preferred** + Project management experience. + Creating technical data packages and drawings using GD&T experience.
