Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will solve problems through design, analysis, and documentation. Work closely with our sales and manufacturing teams to develop solutions to customer problems and ensure that what you design is manufacturable. One of the most rewarding aspects of this role is being able to see your creations come to life every step of the way.

ResponsibilitiesProve your designs are tough enough to withstand the rigors of the construction, rigging, mining, and offshore industries through Finite Element Analysis and calculations.Participate in a peer review team to ensure what we produce is best-in-class.Use SolidWorks software to engineer/detail your designs, PDM software to maintain documentation/records, and ERP software to define how each component and assembly gets made.Contribute to a manufacturing support team that troubleshoots production concerns while supporting continuous improvements and corrective actions through Engineering Change Notices.Contribute to expanding engineering’s knowledge base and team growth by participating in training sessions and mentoring less experienced personnel.Essential SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks and Finite Element Analysis using SolidWorks Simulation.Knowledge of metal manufacturing processes including welding, machining, and heat treatment.Experience with PTC Mathcad and Microsoft Excel.3+ years of SolidWorks design experience.Experience working in a metal manufacturing industry.Simulation experience with FEA.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering-related field (mechanical engineering preferred).Experience in new product development and existing design modifications.Work Environment

You will work with a team of three engineers, including one CAD Manager and two junior engineers, in a family-owned company that has been in business for 70 years. The company has 58 employees onsite and a very long tenure among its employees. You will have a cubicle in the engineering department but will frequently be on the manufacturing floor. This role requires a hands-on approach, and you should be prepared with steel toe boots at your desk. Occasional travel to customer sites is required, around or less than 20 days per year.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47.00 - $55.00/hr.
