Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

The Product Engineer will support the process to provide business essential, cost-effective product design support. The Product Engineer will be responsible for the design and documentation of products during the design and development phases, owning design and development activities, driving cross-functional involvement in strict adherence to the development process, partnering in the identification of new suppliers, and driving the supplier development process. They will also support procurement in the management of the existing supply base and understand current automotive accessory trends.

ResponsibilitiesProduce engineering designs and drawings in accordance with applicable drawing and quality standards.Maintain proficiency with drawing standards and tolerancing.Maintain proficiency with document and configuration control methods and standards.Maintain adherence to accessory product expectations for assigned product categories.Maintain vehicle applicability, conflicts, and requirements for accessories.Facilitate accessory supplier readiness for manufacturing of accessories.Facilitate accessory manufacturing process readiness for installation of accessories, including installation training for trainers.Participate in model year carry-over validation activities.Support accessory product quality problem-solving efforts, including supplier corrective actions.Participate in Field Quality Plan development for newly launched accessories.Participate in review of warranty and other indicators of field performance and customer satisfaction.Participate in the continual improvement of accessory development and launch processes.Participate in determining the direction of the accessory portfolio and help optimize accessory product categories.Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.Attend and participate in meetings and presentations.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in automotive or aerospace experience.Experience in new product development.Experience as a Mechanical Engineer in Product Design.Proficiency with CREO, APQP, PPAP, Creo Parametric, and Windchill. Experience in Research & Development and full life cycle product development.Additional Skills & QualificationsReliable and consistent on-site attendance.Punctual and dependable to meet the needs of the business.Work Environment

This is an onsite position. The Product Engineer will be working at their desk and occasionally on the shop floor, observing sample production and fit checks on vehicles. Work hours will be flexible, but core hours will be from 9 am to 4 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $44.00/hr.
