Manufacturing Test Infrastructure (MTI) is looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer in MTI, you will work in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced team environment to develop and support the automated test systems used in SEL production facilities. The test stations, fixtures, and other devices that you will invent help ensure our customers receive quality, high-reliability products that are fit for use in critical infrastructure applications around the world.
Our team mission is to provide safe, reliable, defect-free test hardware on-time, every time. MTI not only designs and delivers ruggedized test hardware but also builds and validates it in-house. We collaborate closely with Test Engineering and Production to deploy the equipment to the manufacturing floor. We constantly look for ways to improve the performance and reliability of the fleet of test equipment already in service.
The day-to-day work of a Mechanical Engineer in MTI involves developing test systems made of both commercial and custom-designed parts. You will have opportunities to design machined, sheet metal, and injection-molded plastic parts. You will also work with our internal and external supplier-partners to apply best-in-class Design for Manufacturing practices to your parts and assemblies. We regularly work with steel, aluminum, and copper alloys, thermo-plastics, and thermoset plastics to create customized test systems that delight our internal customers. Our work also includes testing and analyzing proposed design solutions to ensure robustness. You will be part of an incredibly capable mechanical engineering team that teaches and learns from each other. Bi-directional mentorship, support, and cross-division collaboration with other engineers is the norm.
Bring your unique skills and abilities and join us in our relentless pursuit of excellence!
