Position purpose (general summary of this position):
This position will support Despatch’s diverse industrial oven portfolio in various ways, including:
Sustaining engineering of current productsModifications of existing products per customer requirementsValue engineeringNew product development, design and testingWorking collaboratively with electrical and software engineering, designers, application engineering, product management and purchasingEducation required:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and 0 - 3 years’ experience
Skills required:
3D Solid Modeling experience with parts, assemblies and drawings, intermediate level+ (SolidWorks preferred)Hands-on experience with testing, thermocouples, anemometers, data-loggers, multi-meters, etc…Basic electrical understanding of equipment and schematicsExperience with Design-for-ManufacturabilityExperience with Bills of MaterialEffective as both an individual contributor and in collaborative teamsComputer skills should include basic PC operation with Windows, Word and ExcelMust have good verbal and written communicationEssential functions of the job (responsibilities):
Perform testing on components and systems, selection of components to guidelines provided, light sub-assembly duties, provide information transfer from Engineering to other departmentsAssignments include the routine design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of products and equipmentConducts analyses or tests of a routine degree of complexity which pertains to the development of new designs, methods, materials or processes and provides recommendations accordinglyMay prepare plans, specification and cost estimates for assignments of moderate difficulty where technical supervision provides an outline of tasks to be performed and suggestions as to methods of approach and procedures to be followedWorking Conditions/Physical demands:
Primarily office setting, but includes time in manufacturing and lab environmentsAble to sit/stand at a desk/PC for long stretches and able to use standard office equipmentAble to walk through production areas to address Engineering concerns and identify opportunities for improvementAbility to travel to other locations for meetings, seminars, training, customer site visits, etc.This position requires sitting, standing, walking and lifting up to 24 poundsITW is an equal opportunity/affirmation action employer. Compensation Information:
The pay for this position ranges from $72,000-$89,000 based on education and experience.
