Job Title: Mechanical Engineering.
Job Description
Utilize mechanical engineering principles, critical thinking, and creativity to develop new products and improve existing products to meet established objectives, from concept to completion. Generate design concepts using parametric solid and sheet metal modeling, produce production drawings and specifications in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Generate design concepts using parametric solid and sheet metal modeling.
+ Produce production drawings and specifications in accordance with relevant standards and procedures, including geometry, materials, finishes, fits, and tolerances.
+ Structure and load complete bills of materials into the manufacturing ERP system.
+ Perform mechanical design calculations such as stress and deflection to ensure designs are safe and reliable.
+ Evaluate designs and manufacturing methods to ensure products are cost-effective.
+ Prototype components and assemblies to validate manufacturability, fit, and function.
+ Plan, execute, analyze, and document results of internal or external performance and reliability tests.
+ Evaluate and conduct redesigns of existing products to reduce costs, improve manufacturability, or improve product performance.
+ Assist sales teams and distribution partners with proper application of existing products and evaluation of new product opportunities.
+ Collaboratively work in a team environment with manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, production supervisors, purchasing agents, machine programmers, and other cross-functional teams.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
+ Minimum of 3 years of product design experience.
+ Experience with common manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, stamping, aluminum and steel welding, machining, and extrusions.
+ Experience with sheet metal fabrications, electro-mechanical systems, and power transmission design.
+ Solid modeling experience; Creo/ProE and sheet metal experience preferred.
+ ERP system familiarity including structured bill of material data entry.
+ Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint and Project proficiency beneficial.
+ Good oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects under time constraints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Open to new graduates with internship experience.
+ IFS ERP system experience.
+ Creo preferred.
+ Hands-on experience with manufacturing.
+ Strong communication skills to work cross-functionally with Applications Sales Engineering, sales, manufacturing, and other engineering groups.
+ 3D Design software experience; Windchill vault experience is beneficial.
+ Emerging project management abilities with career interest in growing team leadership and project management proficiency.
Work Environment
The Product Engineer will work with five other team members, including three engineers, two designers, and one Co-op. The team follows a hybrid schedule, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week after the initial 90-day training period. Initially, the new hire is expected to be in the office five days a week for training purposes. The work environment promotes collaboration and efficiency through scheduled team meetings, testing, and prototyping. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
