Mechanical Engineer
Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Contract Position) Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position. This role involves maintaining and supporting current production lines, executing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), managing product obsolescence, and other related tasks. The ideal candidate will be an independent, self-starter who can seamlessly continue projects without requiring extensive oversight or training. Responsibilities + Maintain and improve existing mechanical systems and production lines. + Perform Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and manage associated documentation. + Conduct regular testing and validation of mechanical systems and components. + Address and manage obsolescence issues with current products and processes. + Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within ongoing projects. + Continue with the projects currently in progress, ensuring that all work meets company standards and timelines. + Take on additional projects based on demonstrated ability and performance. + Collaborate with other engineers and departments as needed, without the need for extensive supervision. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline) + 2-4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering. + Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision. + Experience in maintaining and supporting existing systems rather than developing new products. + Familiarity with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and project documentation. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus. + Experience with SolidWorks. + Previous experience with different metals. Work Environment The role does not involve New Product Development (NPD) responsibilities but focuses on product maintenance and optimization. Candidates must be able to hit the ground running and take on existing projects without extensive training or oversight. The position is initially a 6-month contract role with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position based on performance and business needs Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
