Mechanical Engineer
A multi-disciplinary MEP consulting engineering firm located in Northwest Indiana is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to their team! Job Description: + Manage and engineer large, complex projects; will be responsible for coordinating all aspects and phases of the project between the Architect, Owner, and Engineering Departments + Consult with project principals to determine requirements for project set-up and staff assignments and manage/organize the project kick-off meetings + Prepare and maintain timelines and schedules for the project + Consult with architects, owners, and principals, to compile project information + Reviewing plans and specifications for office quality standards, conformance to scope of work and design criteria and for general coordination issues + Manage attendance for design and construction phase meetings with the client + Assist in the preparation of project budget hours + Conduct engineering surveys, research, and code analysis/interpretation + Prepare engineering calculations and energy simulations + Select and specify systems and equipment + Prepare engineering reports + Prepare contract documents (plans and specifications) + Review shop drawings, respond to RFI’s, conduct site observation visits, prepare field reports, attend construction meetings + Communicate with architect and owner after completion of project + Coordinate with marketing department to obtain marketing information/photographs of project + Assist in the training of new and existing employees. Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering + 7+ years of experience + Revit proficiency + Building design experience Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
