Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design aspects of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering systems in Revit. This role involves working on municipal building projects for local communities and reporting directly to the Mechanical Department Head. The candidate will attend weekly team meetings to discuss project deadlines, tasks, and upcoming workload, and communicate with architects (in-house), clients, and consultants when necessary.
ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering systems in Revit.Work on municipal building projects.Report directly to the Mechanical Department Head.Attend weekly team meetings to discuss project deadlines, tasks, and upcoming workload.Communicate with architects (in-house), clients, and consultants as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Engineering.3-6 years of experience in HVAC/MEPMechanical engineering design experience utilizing Revit.Experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field.Ability to write specifications.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to become licensed.AutoCAD, Revit, Spec-Link (plus).Associates Degree in Drafting or related degree with 8+ years of experience.Work Environment
Our integrated design firm offers in-house architecture and engineering services and has been in business for more than 25 years, serving clients in northern Illinois. Projects have included judicial centers, high schools, wellness centers, police and fire stations, corporate offices, village and city halls, senior living communities, banks, and community college facilities.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08/hr.
