Job Title: Mechanical Engineer-ANSYS
Job Description

In this role, the individual will be responsible for performing mechanical calculations, crunching numbers, and validating the accuracy of mechanical drawings. The primary focus is on using ANSYS and performing hand calculations independently, primarily calculating forces and stresses.

ResponsibilitiesValidate that the design meets customer requirements and industry standard requirements through calculations.Check the work of other team members, including inputs, equations, and assumptions.Document calculations and share them with customers, ensuring they are formatted to be readable and understandable.Respond to customer feedback on calculations.Work with the mechanical design team to confirm assumptions and make recommendations for improvements to the design.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience with ANSYS.Minimum of 3 years of experience in reading mechanical drawings and spec sheets.Understanding of industry standards.Ability to draw free body diagrams and analyze forces.Experience with mechanical shaft calculations.Knowledge of equations to support the selection of components like motors, gearboxes, ropes, pulleys, and bearings.Minimum of 3 years of seismic analysis experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency with MATHCAD.Experience with seismic analysis.Ability to work independently on hand calculations.Work Environment

This role will be part of the structural department in the Nuclear division. The focus is on calculations rather than design. The individual needs to be able to document and share calculations with customers, and work closely with the mechanical design team. There are many example calculations available to assist new hires in getting started.
