Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - ANSYS

Job Description: As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in ANSYS, you will be responsible for performing mechanical calculations and verifying the accuracy of design data using ANSYS and MATHCAD. Your primary focus will be on calculating forces and stresses, ensuring that designs meet customer and industry standards through precise hand calculations. This role requires the ability to work independently, validate designs, and review the work of other team members.

Responsibilities:

Validate designs to ensure they meet customer requirements and industry standards through detailed calculations.Review and verify the work of team members, including inputs, equations, and assumptions.Document calculations and share them with customers, ensuring clarity and readability.Respond to customer feedback on calculations and documentation.Collaborate with the mechanical design team to confirm assumptions and recommend design improvements.

Essential Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering experience.At least 3 years of experience using ANSYS.Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and spec sheets.Strong understanding of industry standards.Ability to draw free body diagrams and analyze forces.Experience performing mechanical shaft calculations and equations to support the selection of components such as motors, gearboxes, ropes, pulleys, and bearings.Minimum of 3 years of seismic analysis experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Proficiency in MATHCAD.Experience in structural engineering.Ability to document calculations clearly and respond effectively to customer feedback.

Work Environment: This role is based in the structural department of the Nuclear division, with a focus on performing calculations rather than design work. You will be responsible for documenting calculations and sharing them with customers, ensuring they are understandable and responding to feedback. Collaboration with the mechanical design team to confirm assumptions and make recommendations is essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $50.00/hr.
