Embark on a pivotal role as a Mechanical Calculations Specialist. Dive into challenging projects that test your precision and technical prowess using ANSYS and MATHCAD. With a focus on calculating forces and stresses, you'll ensure our designs meet stringent industry standards and customer specifications through meticulous hand calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

Champion Precision: Validate designs against industry standards and customer requirements with in-depth calculations.Peer Review: Meticulously check team members' work, scrutinizing inputs, equations, and assumptions.Documentation Guru: Clearly document calculations and share them with customers, ensuring readability and comprehension.Responsive Communicator: Address customer feedback on calculations and documentation efficiently.Collaborative Innovator: Partner with the mechanical design team to confirm assumptions and recommend design enhancements.

Essential Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience: Minimum of 3 years in mechanical engineering, proficient in ANSYS and reading mechanical drawings/spec sheets.Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of industry standards, free body diagrams, and force analysis.Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in mechanical shaft calculations, seismic analysis, and component selection (motors, gearboxes, ropes, pulleys, and bearings).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Software: Proficient in MATHCAD.Structural Savvy: Experience in structural engineering.Communicative Clarity: Ability to clearly document calculations and effectively respond to customer feedback.

Work Environment:

Join our Nuclear division's structural department, focusing on calculations rather than design work. You’ll be entrusted with documenting calculations, ensuring their clarity, and addressing customer feedback. Collaborate with the mechanical design team to confirm assumptions and provide recommendations. Numerous example calculations will be at your disposal to get you started.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $50.00/hr.
