Job Description
Stantec is a leader in global infrastructure, Oil and Gas, water resource development, Buildings, Mining, providing engineering design and remediation, construction, procurement, program management, and technology solutions for the Energy & Power sector, water, wastewater markets of the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific region.
Stantec is looking for Mechanical Engineer who can contribute to the ongoing growth of Stantec Resource Net India Private Ltd by providing technical expertise in Mechanical discipline. Mechanical Engineers (within the Energy & Resources Division of Stantec) focus on the design Engineering, Piping design, 3D modeling, calculation, data sheets, operations of mechanical systems for engineering projects in Oil & Gas, Power, refineries, food processing plants, Industrial plants etc. They create datasheets, calculations, drawings, and schematics of projects, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
A Career Level 3/4 Mechanical Engineer carries out mechanical engineering assignments of limited scope and complexity. Under the general direction of a Lead engineer, this role is responsible for a small/medium project or part of a project or operation requiring a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering. Work is completed under general supervision.
Person Specifications:
- B.E./B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 6 years of relevant industrial experience.- Technical specs/datasheets, design calculations,
- Sizing and selection of mechanical items i.e., Tanks, Vessels, Pumps, HE, Valves etc.
- Engineering lists preparation i.e. Line list, Valve list & Equipment list
- Piping design, Layouts
- Knowledge of ASME codes and standards
- Having Piping design knowledge would be added advantage
- Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering using Common Data Environments like Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk ACC/BIM 360.
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D design.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Fully competent in all conventional areas of subject matter or functional area.
- Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
- Should be good team player.
- Good knowledge of other engineering discipline needs and interfaces.
- Advanced presentation skills.
Key Accountabilities:
- Review the input received from client and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly without changing design intent.
- Perform mechanical engineering design which may include engineering drawings, calculations, datasheets, reports, design criteria, to support engineering projects.
- Perform calculations to analyze and design mechanical system components using company standard software
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of mechanical systems and materials and the development of mechanical specifications. i.e. Valves, PSV, Pumps, Heat exchangers, Tanks, Vessels & Air coolers
- Evaluation of Vendor quotes / technical bid evaluation for Equipment/Packages i.e. Instrument air, Filters, Air coolers etc...
- Contribute to the development of mechanical systems, through sketches, diagrams, and other visual formats.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
- Prepare mechanical engineering documents by developing engineering specifications, plans and schedules.
- Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, and performs other contract administration tasks.
- Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
- Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
- Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating to support engineering projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
