The Mechanical Engineer I for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible to design, develop, troubleshoot modules for laboratory medical device new product development. The incumbent practices best design practices and follow quality processes defined during development. This position is part of the Hematology and Urinalysis Department of Beckman Coulter located in Bangalore IDC and will be on-site. You will be an active and integral member of the R&D Hardware/Systems Development team and report to the Systems Engineering Manager responsible for the design and re-design of certain Hardware components and development of new products, on-market products and support manufacturing activities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Prototype, design and Validate Mechanical modules used in diagnostic instruments + Participate in cross-functional project teams to develop medical device hardware + Work with multi-discipline teams on new production introduction project while adhering to CAD Design and source control processes for drawings and models releases + Document Hardware designs, write technical specifications for Manufacturing with different vendors. The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or related field with 0-3 Years of experience + Experience designing and developing 2D/3D CAD files using SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD or equivalent CAD softwares + Expert in stress testing and reliability assessment for mechanical component + Experience in Controlled design and development, release processes using version control systems like ENOVIA and iVault + Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) + Create and Maintain BOM and Manufacturing drawings for projects + Work closely with external vendor for mechanical part development activities and provide support in design reviews + Experience in medical device design & development is a plus + Experience in IVD instrumentation, such as clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, molecular, microbiology or flow cytometry systems is a plus + Advanced certification in CAD tools + Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles + Exposure to additive manufacturing and 3D Printing + Experience with tools like CNC Machines rapid prototyping Join our winning team today.
