Mechanical Engineer II

Overview

Participate as part of an engineering team, applying sound engineering principles to develop, customize and/or sustain TDW products and services solutions for customer applications.  This role provides a detailed focus on material of construction for all product lines across the global engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Design products (equipment and consumables) and improve existing technologies considering manufacturability, costs, and quality expectations.Verify and/or apply customer/input requirements to engineering / design activity/output.Perform and document the engineering activities (Concepts, Product design or improvements, Calculation Notes, Design activities, prototypes, CE documentation, manuals, failure analysis, corrective actions, obsolescence …).Perform and lead the components, assemblies, and products CAD design activities (3D models. Drawings).Provide and lead technical support and communications to other internal departments (Quality, Production, Purchase, Sales and Comm Ops, Services, …), as well as to suppliers, partners and customers.Report progresses, difficulties, risks and needs to the Engineering ManagerFollow the established processes and proactively support and/or facilitate changes in the department in a continuous improvement logicSupport internal and external products presentationsKeep the ERP (AX) database up to date, create and update product Part NumbersPerform and/or lead validation test activities and create test reports

Experience

Engineering degree in Mechanical Design5 years’ experience in an engineering environment requiredSignificant experience in Engineering problems solvingProficient in CAD software for 3D models, drawings (Solidworks preferred)Experience in plastics parts manufacturing and machining would be preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient in CAD software for 3D models, drawings (Solidworks preferred)Experience in plastics parts manufacturing and machining would be preferredMicrosoft Office Pack professional skillsKnowledge of PLM software (Team center, Intralink, Solidworks PLM).Machine design experience preferredGood written and verbal communication skills in French and EnglishCapacity and willingness to work in an international environmentReady to accept business trips (15%)
