Mechanical Engineer II
Job Description Insight Global is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer II to join a manufacturer of industrial equipment in the electric utility industry, specializing in a wide range of equipment, including overhead and underground pulleys, tensioners, reel trailers, and stringing blocks. In this role, this engineer will join the effort in revamping an existing lineup of stringing sheaves and accessories to include inventing new products to fill portfolio gaps. The enginer will own entire pieces of heavy hydraulic machinery and follow each project from beginning to end with a high level of ownership. To be successful in this role, it is imperative to have prior experience owning and building pieces of heavy hydraulic machines with electrical components using a systems-based approach. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package. Skills and Requirements - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering - 5+ years of experience as an engineer of heavy hydraulic machinery with complex electrical components - Prior experience in welding and weldments - Experience designing heavy equipment for over-the-road use - 1+ year of experience with SolidWorks - Experience with hydraulics design - Familiarity with OSHA, FMVSS, and AISC - Familiar with industry standards organizations, particularly ASTM, ASME, AWS, and SAE null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
