Actalent is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our client in the aerospace industry for a long term opportunity in the Ottawa area.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and/or review project deliverables such as plans, reports, drawings, analyses, and other related documents within Mechanical and Systems Engineering, ensuring the highest quality service for internal and external customers.Provide ongoing support for new and existing designs, including product conceptual designs, 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, technical instructions, and engineering specifications.Perform design checks, support the creation of redlines, and assist with sign-off through production phases.Participate in and support various design review meetings (SRR, ERR, PDR, CDR, change boards, etc.).Collaborate effectively with other Engineering Functions, including Electrical and Manufacturing teams, to ensure cohesive project outcomes.Act as a liaison between project management and engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of tasks and objectives.Monitor systems, processes, and practices within your technical area of expertise, identifying opportunities for improvement based on evolving needs, feedback, and current best practices.Drive new ideas to reduce costs, enhance product quality, increase productivity, and meet deadlines.Provide technical guidance and oversee a small team of engineers when required.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications:

Strong experience in Design, COTS, Custom Solutions, Supplier Management, DFM, Design-to-Cost, Weldment, Sheet Metal, Welding, Machining.A Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.A detail-oriented, organized individual capable of developing complex designs and analyses.Ability to work well within a team, collaborate across functions, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $65.00/hr.
