Responsibilities What You’ll Do:As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you’ll work under the mentorship of experienced engineers to redesign assembly and test fixtures, improve workflow, and enhance manufacturing efficiency. You'll gain practical experience with lean manufacturing principles, production optimization, and hands-on problem-solving.
Your Responsibilities:✅ Hands-On Manufacturing Experience:
Apply classroom knowledge to real-world production challenges.Work with the Manufacturing Engineering team to enhance assembly and test fixtures.Analyze space requirements, workflow, and equipment layout for maximum efficiency.✅ Technical Skill Development:
Gain experience using SolidWorks to develop manufacturing tooling and fixtures.Learn to calculate and improve production efficiencies through data analysis.Reduce downtime by identifying and eliminating waste using Lean Manufacturing principles.Work with an ERP system to understand manufacturing logistics.Participate in Kaizen events for continuous improvement projects.✅ Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work alongside interns from Robotics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials, and Continuous Improvement teams.Develop troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills to solve manufacturing issues. Qualifications What We’re Looking For:✔ Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
✔ Experience with SolidWorks and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
✔ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
✔ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
