Position OverviewThe Live Training vertical within Cole Engineering Services, Inc. provides modern training capabilities and services in support of collective, force-on-force training as well as home station training.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our engineering team. The intern will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, prototyping, and testing. This internship provides a unique opportunity to apply engineering principles and develop practical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities Assist in the design, analysis, and development of mechanical components and systems.Support the creation of CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications.Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to evaluate design feasibility.Participate in prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project development.Document test results, design changes, and engineering processes.Perform research on materials, manufacturing processes, and emerging technologiesMaintain a safe and organized work environment. Required Experience/Qualifications Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering concepts.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing is a plus.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Eagerness to learn and apply new engineering concepts. Preferred Experience/Qualifications Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).Experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, or other fabrication methods.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations. Special Requirements/Security Clearance
