Mechanical Engineer Intern City Palm Beach Gardens State FL Country United States Area of Interest Internship Type Part Time - Temporary Job ID 2025-14992 Business Group Nuclear Power Group Department Mechanical Engineering Description As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project team and assist the engineering team members in the execution of their project work. These projects may involve the design of new or modifications and upgrades to existing power plant or industrial facility systems and components.Working under the direction of senior engineers, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Mechanical Engineering in one or more of the following areas:Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings and specifications.Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.

Please note that this internship position does not provide a subsidy for relocation expenses.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

Must have an expected graduation date prior to Summer 2027 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Master of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program with a strong academic background and coursework in mechanical systems analysis.Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong PC skills are required.Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

Prior, related internship or co-op experience is preferred.Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.An understanding of the practical application of mechanical engineering principles.Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community.
