Volt is immediately hiring for Mechanical Engineer - Labs in Long Beach, CA.

\r\n\r\nWhat is JetZero? \r\n\r\n

Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase: Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.

JetZero is developing a blended wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion. JetZero is the inevitable solution to sustainable air travel.

This is why we’re hiring a Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible for the design and architecting of the structures and test articles related to aircraft systems for the Test Labs.

As a Mechanical Engineer - Labs you will:

\r\n\r\nWhat You'll Do\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDesign of mechanical systems, including landing gear, flight controls, hydraulics systems, support structures, and testing structures. \r\n\tInitial role in systems labs. \r\n\tDeveloping engineer drawings, schematics and 3-D models\r\n\tCreating and executing system test plans and reports\r\n\tWriting compliance documentation\r\n\tContribute to planning, development, coordination and execution of engineering projects.\r\n\tAssist other team members with technical knowledge and experience.\r\n\tProvide innovative solutions to complex technical problems.\r\n\tCoordinate work and engineering with suppliers.\r\n\tSupport overall JetZero company goals and objectives.\r\n\tOther tasking as required.\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
\r\nMinimum of 5 years of mechanical, aerospace or systems engineering experience.
\r\nExperience credit considered for related advanced degrees (2 years for a Masters, 3 years for a PhD in applicable fields).

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAbility to understand and analyze mechanical systems and apply that knowledge to solve engineering problems.\r\n\tUnderstanding kinematics of systems\r\n\tPractical experience with aircraft systems and hydraulic systems. \r\n\tExperience with computer aided design tools. \r\n\tWorks effectively with a multi-disciplinary team through the company.\r\n\tStrong written and verbal communication skills\r\n\tCan work in a fast-moving, agile environment and can prioritize and resolve issues in support of the program.\r\n\tAbility to work onsite in Long Beach, CA \r\n\r\n\r\n

Salary: $110,000 - $140,0000 per year

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
