The **Mechanical Engineer, PE** will work as part of a team designing and modeling, under general supervision, to produce electrical design calculations and drawings from sketches, mark-ups, existing as-builts, site maps, photos, field notes, and existing Revit/AutoCAD drawings for Federal Government Programs. You will be responsible for creating construction drawings, and details from redlines, as-builts, and graphics while working directly with other design disciplines, consultants, and engineers, as well as ensuring the design and all coordination meet strict USG requirements and deadlines. You will upkeep the company's BIM/CAD Programs, BIM/CAD Execution Plan, and BIM/CAD Coordination Plan with consultants. **Responsibilities** + Oversee and monitor daily mechanical design deliverables to ensure efficiencies and a cost-effective approach are taken + On specific projects as the assigned PM, administer organization of overall design commencement, development, production, and submission + Ensure compliance of drafting and engineering standards with the prescribed program + Design and draft mechanical solutions, reports, and specifications using the required format – typically Revit, BIM 360 and/or ACAD for drawings + Develop mechanical design standard procedures and a BIM/CAD Plan of Action, to include libraries, details, templates, folder structures, and blocks for current and upcoming projects + Utilize standard engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data and create schematic design and construction documents accurately and independently + Revise drawings from markups and/or instructions and self-check documents prior to release + Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and other subject matter experts and complete conflict resolution/interference workflow checks and clash detection as necessary + Write, edit, and publish technical specifications using SpecsIntact, MasterFormat, and other required formats + Perform code analysis using prescribed references + Create batch sets of construction drawings and individual sheets, combine, review, edit, hyperlink, perform QAQC, and upload final deliverables per customer standards + Assist as needed in the preparation of close-out documentation to include O&M manuals, warranties, and as-built drawings and specifications + Assist with Site Survey Documentation and perform Construction Administration + Complete assigned tasks on all projects in a timely manner + This position is 100% remote + Other duties as assigned **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university + 5+ years of specialized mechanical facility schematic design and design development experience, including demonstrated experience with the evaluation of new and existing facilities’ mechanical systems + Federal Government project experience preferred + Professional registration as a Licensed Mechanical Engineer (to include at least five years under registration) - The license must be current and issued by a United States of America state, Commonwealth, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory. + Ability to obtain a security clearance **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** + Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems Windows and Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams, etc) + Working knowledge of the latest UFCs, UFGS, NFPA, International Mechanical, and Plumbing Codes + Demonstrated working knowledge of current AutoCAD and other design and general office software. + Demonstrated knowledge of specifications development and coordination, using Government-based specification software. + Experience conducting field observation to verify/obtain the existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems and incorporating these conditions into the design for a renovation/rehabilitation project. + Ability to perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence + Judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria + Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment + Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail and analytical skills + Capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment + Working knowledge in main mechanical applications software for sizing ductwork and piping systems. + Working knowledge of the SpecsIntact and ability to produce and edit specification for design projects. + Ability to design DDC control systems, including production of the sequences of operation, point lists, and control diagrams. + Ability to travel at least 25% **How you’ll grow** At Chenega MIOS, our professional development plan focuses on helping our team members at every level of their careers to identify and use their strengths to do their best work every day.
